07 May Event: ‘The Peoples of Nigeria’ Book Launch
It’s truly amazing to witness the valuable time and creative energy that young Nigerians are investing in becoming custodians of our culture and history. I attended The Peoples of Nigeria children’s book launch, and seeing the results of this extensive personal project was truly inspirational. Written and illustrated by Olúwalãnú Agusto, this extremely timely and important book ‘teaches children about the culture of 36 ethnic groups in Nigeria. They learn about each group’s food, clothing, dance, art, festivals, music and more.’ As we continue to learn about the similarities and differences between our ethnic groups, we continue to improve our chances of working towards a unified and successful version of Nigeria.
Note: Nigeria has over 250 ethnic groups.
